Privacy Notice

If you are reading this notice, you are a user of Mottli’s App which is made available to you (the “App”). This privacy notice sets out information about the personal data which Mottli may receive and process in connection with your use of the App. This Notice applies to Mottli and we or us are responsible for processing your data and this notice relates to your use of our App.

Personal data we may receive when you use the App

We will receive:

We will receive very limited personal data in connection with your use of the App.

  • your name, user name and/or login name;

  • your email address; and

  • the password associated with your account.

This data will be provided by you directly. In addition, we will maintain a record of usage data relating to your account. This will include the last IP address used to login, the date of account registration, last login time, last profile update time, date of your last password update, and total login count.

To allow for any future improvements and to enhance your personal experience, we may use data to provide:

  • information about your activity on and interaction within the App (such as your IP address, the type of device or browser you use, and your actions on the Apps);

  • information about the way you visit and interact with our App, in the form of traffic analytics. Communications you send to us (for example, when you ask for support, send us questions or comments, or report a problem); and

  • information that you submit in the form of comments, contributions to discussions, or messages to other users.

Our use of that personal data

We will use the personal data to manage your user account associated with the App. Usage data will also help us identify any unusual account activity which might raise security concerns. Under applicable data protection law, we are required to identify the lawful basis on which we use your personal data. The relevant lawful basis of our processing is “legitimate interest”: that is, our business interest in making the App available to our clients and users and in keeping the App secure.

Data transfers

Personal data may be disclosed to our insurers or professional advisers if necessary to take legal or professional advice, and may be disclosed in connection with legal claims or if required by law. We may disclose personal data to your employing organization if they are responsible for administering user subscriptions to the App. We may transfer personal data to suppliers that host the servers on which our App-related data is stored. It is also possible that if we restructure our corporate group, or if our business or shareholding is acquired, then our various records (which may include your personal data) may be transferred to the new owner. If any of the transfers above are to a territory outside the UK and EEA, then we will ensure that any transfer to them will only be made lawfully (e.g. to countries in respect of which the European Commission has made an “adequacy decision”, or with appropriate safeguards such as the use of standard clauses or international frameworks approved by the European Commission).

How long we keep your personal data

We will keep your personal data for as long as your user account relating to the App is open. If your user account is closed for any reason then we will delete your personal data within thirty days. We may retain that data longer if necessary to comply with law or in connection with any actual or potential legal claim.

Your rights

You have various rights in relation to your personal data. Further information is available on the website of the Information Commissioner’s Office (www.ico.org.uk).

In summary, these rights include:

  • the right to access, being a confirmation of what personal data we hold, and access to copies;

  • the right to correction, being the right to have any inaccurate personal data about you corrected;

  • the right to erasure, being the right in certain circumstances to the erasure of your personal data;

  • the right to restrict processing, being the right to restrict the processing of your personal data to limit its use;

  • the right to object to processing, being the right to object to our using personal data on the basis of legitimate interests; and

  • the right to complain to a supervisory authority.
